Assignment Overview:

HumanEdge Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Bethpage, NY . Join a large, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center that provides sterile processing services for 9 facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers, with emergency services coverage.

Position Details:

• Shift: Evenings – 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

• Schedule: Every other weekend required

• Hours: 8-hour shifts

• On-Call: None

Facility Details:

• Large, busy off-site sterile processing center supporting multiple facilities

• Emergency coverage for regional facilities

Required Qualifications:

• Sterile processing certification ( CRCST or CSPD , must not expire during assignment)

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience:

• 1.5+ years if tertiary experience

• 2+ years if not tertiary experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience

Technical Skills / Responsibilities:

• Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to manufacturer instructions and department protocols

• Operate STERIS washers, autoclaves, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and other sterilization equipment

• Follow instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts

• Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from hospital areas for decontamination

• Examine instruments for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality; report malfunctions

• Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory

• Maintain a contaminant-free work environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds

• Manual dexterity and ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods

• Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
