We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team on a per diem basis for night shift coverage in Joliet, IL . The ideal candidate will be experienced in monitoring patients with cardiac conditions, interpreting telemetry, and delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. This role is perfect for RNs looking for flexible hours while making an impact in a high-acuity telemetry setting.
Key Responsibilities:Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring
Interpret and respond to telemetry/EKG rhythms and changes in patient condition
Administer medications, monitor IVs, and perform bedside interventions per hospital protocols
Communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams regarding patient status and care plans
Document all care accurately and timely in the EMR
Deliver patient and family education related to diagnosis, recovery, and discharge
Float to other like-kind units as needed within scope of practice
Participate in every other weekend and holiday rotation
Active Illinois RN license (Required)
BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA – Required)
Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry or stepdown experience (Preferred)
Proficiency in cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry interpretation
Strong communication, time management, and critical thinking skills
Flexibility to work night shifts and float to similar units as needed
