Facility Overview
- Facility Type: Brand-new freestanding cancer hospital (opened May 2025)
- Affiliation: RWJBarnabas Health + Rutgers Cancer Institute
- Float Policy: May float to RWJUH Main Campus (connected via pedestrian bridge)
- Call Requirement: 2–3 days/week
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
- Block Scheduling: Not permitted
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- First-Time Travelers Accepted: Yes
Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in stroke center or IR
- ED or ICU experience highly preferred
- Licensure & Certifications (must be in-hand):
- Active NJ RN license
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- Other:
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Must be able to scrub in procedures
Skills & Procedures
Includes but not limited to:
- Interventional Radiology:
- Stroke & trauma interventions
- Conscious sedation recovery
- PICC line assistance (PAs insert)
- Midline insertions house-wide
- Specialty Equipment:
- EKOS+, A-lines, wedge pressures
- Ventilator management, vasoactive drips
- Procedures:
- Angioplasty, stent placements, embolizations, TIPS, nephrostomy
- Cardiac cath procedures (PCI, sheath removal)
- GI procedures (paracentesis, liver ablation)
- Neuro procedures (carotid/cerebral angiography)
