Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in a Level I Trauma environment. This position covers a wide variety of surgical specialties and requires strong circulating skills and familiarity with trauma-level surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced surgical department with 20+ OR suites.

Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Circulate in a variety of surgical cases including general, neuro, trauma, ortho, GYN, plastics, ENT, GU, and robotic surgeries.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure surgical safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist in emergency situations and trauma cases as required.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to surgical emergencies.
• Document accurately and follow all OR protocols and patient safety standards.

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Indiana license must be in hand at submission).
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience (may screen >2 years if 1 year Level I Trauma experience).
• Level I Trauma experience required – HARD STOP.
• Certifications:
  • Required: BLS
  • Preferred: ACLS, PALS
• Circulate required; Scrub preferred.
• Must be current in most OR specialties (except CV & Transplant).
• First-time travelers accepted!

ENT: Tracheostomy, Neck Dissection, Laryngectomy
Robotics: Da Vinci Xi, Colorectal, Urologic, and Gynecologic Robotics

Unit & Call Details:

• Unit: Core 3 & 4 – General, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, GYN, ENT, GU, Plastics, Colorectal Robotics
• Operating Rooms: 21 suites
• Daily Surgical Census: 70–80 cases
• On-Call Requirement: 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule (varies)
• Float Requirement: Within OR specialties as needed
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Contract Details:

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days (7a–7:30p, 3x12s)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• RTO: Up to 5 non-holiday days auto-approved; must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Locals Accepted: Yes (adjusted local rate applies)
