Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Senior Director of Behavior, where you'll lead a dedicated team to oversee the behavioral health of animals in the ARC and CARE programs. Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for ARC and CARE animals
Ensure high-quality, low-stress patient care
Manage and coach a team of behavior experts
Lead research projects to advance ASPCA’s mission
Collaborate with multiple teams to improve animal welfare
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Master’s or PhD degree in animal Behavior or related discipline or DVM degree from AVMA accredited veterinary school
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to handle behaviorally and medically compromised animals
Comfort with humane euthanasia decisions
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing/overseeing research projects
Experience writing scientific publications for peer-reviewed journals
Low Stress Handling – Silver certified or able to obtain certification within first year
