Job Description

As a Navy Chaplain, you'll provide spiritual support and guidance to Sailors and Marines, conducting services, and counseling individuals during key moments in their lives. You'll be part of a diverse and impactful community, serving both on land and at sea.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct worship services in various settings
  • Perform religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings and funerals
  • Counsel individuals seeking guidance
  • Oversee religious education programs
  • Visit and provide spiritual guidance to hospitalized personnel and families
  • Train lay leaders for religious education
  • Promote attendance at religious events
  • Advise leaders on morale and spiritual well-being

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or equivalent
  • Graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited institution
  • Two years of full-time religious leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious faith organization registered with the Department of Defense
