Job Description
Join Uncommon Schools as a College Counselor, where you'll empower students to navigate their college journey. Engage with students and families to ensure successful college matches, guiding them through applications, career explorations, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Teach college seminar courses for 11th and 12th graders
Guide students through the college application process
Build a culture of college and career readiness
Collaborate with parents and families
Participate in professional development and conferences
Build relationships with college admissions offices
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of two years experience in an urban district or charter school setting
Prior experience working with high school students and families
Ability to communicate well with others
Strong digital literacy including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Naviance, and PowerSchool
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
Experience in the college admissions field
Experience in urban settings with BIPOC students
