Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for ARC and CARE animals
Ensure high quality, low stress patient and population care
Manage and coach a team of behavior experts
Lead research projects related to animal behavior
Collaborate with various teams for integrated animal care
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
DVM degree (or equivalent) from AVMA accredited veterinary school for Veterinary Behaviorist candidates
Master’s or PhD degree in animal Behavior or related discipline from an accredited program for Non-Veterinarian Behaviorist candidates
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Ability to work with behaviorally and medically compromised animals
Comfort with humane euthanasia decisions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in shelters
Interest in developing/overseeing research projects
Experience writing scientific publications
