Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Serve as primary or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with UHS policies and pharmacological standards.
• Support productivity and resource utilization, including staffing, time management, and supply use.
• Ensure compliance with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.
• Actively participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model , Unit Council, improvement initiatives, and peer review practices.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and completion of mandatory training.
• Integrate current nursing research and evidence-based practices into patient care.
• Support orientation and learning for new employees and nursing students.
• Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as requested.

Required Certifications
