As the Mechanical Analysis Section Leader at Raytheon, you will lead a team of engineers in Tucson, AZ, overseeing the quality of technical outputs while ensuring effective support throughout the product life cycle. This role requires strong leadership and experience in materials and processes within military programs, delivering impactful solutions for complex engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of 15-20 engineers
Provide technical development, mentoring, and performance management
Ensure accuracy of technical outputs
Collaborate with leadership on engineering goals
Coordinate staffing needs and support recruitment efforts
Perform individual contributor workload in mechanical analysis
Resolve technical and operational problems related to materials and processes
Support product life cycle through technical oversight
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Experience with materials and process design, development, and/or production support for military programs
Experience working in a cross-functional team
Experience in testing methods for generation of physical properties of materials
Experience with PWB/CCA interconnects analysis
Experience in failure analysis of mechanical assemblies
Experience in dimensional inspection/measurement techniques
Preferred Qualifications
Ten years of experience in materials problem solving and design selection
Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplined scientific projects
Direct experience in aerospace production support
Advanced degree in relevant disciplines
Understanding of Systems Engineering
Knowledge of data analysis and computational techniques
Strong communication and planning skills
Ability to write concise technical reports
Knowledge of MATLAB, Creo, and/or Python
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Basis of Estimate (BOE) Certification
