Shunt Driver II

Safety-Kleen East Chicago, IN is looking for a Shunt Driver II to join their safety conscious team.  As a Shunt Driver II you will be responsible for moving trailers to load and unload within our Clean Harbors and Safety-Kleen facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Operate shunt truck to move trailers within the facility for loading, unloading, and or cleaning;
• Operates the track mobile for movement of railcars in and out of the loading/unloading building;
• Scale full and empty trailers to determine gallons loaded or unloaded;
• Review shipping paperwork for product to be loaded;
• Performs railcar inspections to comply with requirements of the Federal Railroad D.O.T. prior to loading, unloading and/or offering for transport;
• Works closely with transportation, the Lab, and bulk carriers to insure products are shipped on time and in specification. Assist in assignment of trailers for cleaning, loading, or substituting as necessary;
• Perform other work as assigned by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?

• 1+ years’ previous Shunt Driving experience;
• Strong communication skills;
• Knowledge of air and hydraulic brakes.
