Job Description

Join Boeing as a Tactical Data Network Design Engineer & Equipment Manager, where you'll lead the engineering design and integration of advanced avionics systems for the KC-46 aircraft, contributing to mission-critical capabilities that support U.S. and Allied forces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support engineering design, development, analysis, testing, and certification of Tactical Data Networks avionics
  • Develop, validate, and verify system level requirements
  • Collaborate on design, development, integration, testing, and operational capability of various programs
  • Lead development of test plans and procedures for certification activities
  • Coordinate system-level integration of TDN hardware and software
  • Oversee critical tests to validate performance of designs against system requirements
  • Provide leadership in technical management of suppliers and Boeing software team members
  • Gather information for proposal development and conduct trade studies
  • Coordinate FAA, military certification, and Boeing airworthiness activities
  • Consult with specialty engineering Integrated Product Teams
  • Provide troubleshooting support for production labs and aircraft
  • Conduct technical issue investigations and Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCAs)
  • Acquire knowledge of Link 16, JREAP networks, and data messaging protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience with FAA and/or Military type certification requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with Link 16, JREAP networks, and messaging protocols
  • Experience with Equipment Manager responsibilities for Avionics Line Replaceable Units (LRUs)
  • Experience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Experience in Technical Subcontract Management
  • Experience developing requirements and performing requirements decomposition
  • Experience evaluating aircraft maintenance requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have or have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
  • Experience leading teams and/or projects
  • Experience with Software Development Processes
  • Experience troubleshooting avionic equipment, general electronics, and/or aircraft systems
  • Experience in hardware and software integration
