*Cookeville Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Radiation Therapist to join our Cancer Center team!*
The *Radiation Therapist* is responsible for accurately administering radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Assists as a liaison between patient physician and nursing staff. Explains treatment procedures to patients and their family members when asked. Reinforces recommendations and instructions to the patient concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiation area. Other duties as assigned.
*Education: *Graduate of accredited school of Radiation Therapy. Certified with American Registry Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology (ARRT) or must be registered within six (6) months of hire.
*Experience: * Two years working experience in Radiation Therapy Preferred. Knowledge in Radiation Oncology, the principles governing radiation safety, use, and application of radiation to the healing arts. Ability to operate all equipment in the department necessary in providing patient treatments, able to handle incapacitated and difficult patients, and remain calm in a crisis situation.
