Job Description & RequirementsWe are seeking an experienced and dependable PACU Registered Nurse to join a surgical recovery team in Norwalk, California . This is a 13-week contract with opportunity for extension, offering consistent hours and a supportive environment for nurses passionate about post-operative care.
Schedule & On-Call:8-hour shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
On-Call Requirements:
Weekdays: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekends: 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
Call rotates between staff
Provide skilled nursing care to post-anesthesia patients during recovery
Monitor patients' vital signs, pain levels, consciousness, and respiratory status
Manage airways, administer medications, and respond to emergencies
Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other departments to ensure safe patient transition
Document nursing interventions and patient progress accurately and timely
Educate patients and families on post-op care and discharge instructions
Current California RN License (Required)
ACLS certification – American Heart Association (Required)
PALS certification – American Heart Association (Required)
Minimum 1 year of recent PACU experience (Preferred)
Strong assessment, airway management, and critical thinking skills
