Key Responsibilities
Supervise, lead, and mentor a payroll team
Define expectations and implement guidance and practices
Present key operational performance information
Collaborate with leadership and other supervisors
Ensure compliance with government regulations
Support staff development and encourage professional growth
Facilitate operational transformation initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
15 years of professional experience in payroll and payroll tax filings
Professional payroll certification (FPC or CPP)
Advanced competency in multi-state payroll administration
Strong understanding of FLSA and IRS regulations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated experience in payroll process improvements
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory or leadership experience
Payroll processing for a large organization (5,000+ staff)
Exposure to in-house management of short-term disability
Experience with APL business systems (Workday, MasterTax, Oracle)
5 years of experience in a DoD contracting environment
