Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and play a pivotal role in enhancing animal welfare. You'll lead a dedicated team, ensure high-quality veterinary care, and support underserved communities. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at veterinary clinics
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging and teamwork
  • Ensure all team members are trained in low-stress handling techniques
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and surgical procedures
  • Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care
  • Participate in monthly veterinary medicine rounds and meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification is required within 60 days of hire

  • Previous people management experience
