Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and play a pivotal role in enhancing animal welfare. You'll lead a dedicated team, ensure high-quality veterinary care, and support underserved communities. Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging and teamwork
Ensure all team members are trained in low-stress handling techniques
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and surgical procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care
Participate in monthly veterinary medicine rounds and meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification is required within 60 days of hire
