Job Description

Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Medical Office Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in patient care. You'll assist with patient intake, prepare injections, and support healthcare providers in a collaborative environment while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Escort patients and complete patient intake
  • Clean and straighten exam room between patients
  • Prepare syringes and administer injections
  • Assist provider with injectable procedures
  • Prepare and route pathology and lab specimens
  • Respond to patient inquiries as instructed
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments
  • Comply with OSHA and HIPAA standards
  • Maintain medication samples and records
  • Train other employees as required
  • Assist with front desk check-in/check-out procedures
  • Perform additional duties as required

Required Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Professionalism and strong customer service skills
  • Clear and concise communication with doctors
  • Professional and friendly communication with patients and co-workers
  • Ability to lift at least 15 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
