Key Responsibilities

  • Make professional contact with country elevators and farmer producers
  • Grow CHS business with new customers and in new regions
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts
  • Procure CHS products based on strategy and make buying decisions
  • Report hedges, purchasing/sale of contracts quickly and accurately
  • Respond to customer complaints, questions, and requests
  • Interpret industry reports and understand trends
  • Plan and implement purchasing strategies in line with policies
  • Gather market information and communicate to stakeholders
  • Collaborate internally to exchange information
  • Manage customer shipments and execute logistics strategy
  • Demonstrate effective cross-selling success
  • Apply CHS sales cycle for targeted results

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Commodities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Manufacturing, Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Statistics or related field
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Strong customer service skills including negotiation and conflict management
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong critical thinking and decision making skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of available trucking and rail operations
  • Basic knowledge of logistics impact on customer business
  • Basic knowledge of cash and futures markets and hedging strategy
