Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for a school-based assignment requiring a bachelor's degree in speech pathology and a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a school setting providing speech language pathology services to students
- Assignment runs from early September through mid-June
- Day shift, Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Total of 35 billable hours per week
- Travel between schools and job-related locations required during the day
- School-based experience is preferred but not required
- Candidates must be committed to collaborating and working in a team environment
- Engagement with culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse populations is a key aspect of the role
- Evidence of ongoing professional learning is valued
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in speech pathology from an accredited college or university required
- Valid Washington State driver's license required
- Ability to work effectively with diverse families, communities, and school staff
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to function within a school system and collaborate in a professional learning community
- Evidence of commitment to professional growth and self-reflection
- Resume required for consideration
- Active state license required if applicable
- Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification required if position or state mandates—cannot start without it
