Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll guide a passionate team in delivering high-quality care to underserved communities. You'll play a crucial role in both medical procedures and team leadership, ensuring a compassionate approach to animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
Support a positive work culture through regular 1:1s and performance evaluations
Perform pre-surgery physical exams and high-volume spay/neuter procedures
Provide compassionate and quality preventive and basic care to patients
Participate in administrative tasks like scheduling and monthly meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
