Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Medical Office Assistant, where you'll support patient care in a collaborative environment. Your role includes patient intake, assisting with procedures, and ensuring compliance with health standards, all while providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare and route pathology and lab specimens
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures
Required Qualifications
At least one year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills
Clear communication with doctors
Professional communication with patients and co-workers
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
