Job Description
Join Raytheon's Materials and Process Engineering Department as a Chemical & Materials Engineer I, where you'll conduct hands-on testing of various materials in a state-of-the-art lab. This role offers the chance to engage in innovative solutions for nonstandard problems while contributing to vital projects that enhance national security.
Key Responsibilities
Test a wide array of materials for compliance to drawings, specifications, and program application
Work in a ‘wet lab,’ observing all safety procedures and common lab protocols
Write scientific reports using generated data to support technical dispositions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Less than 2 years experience
Experience in Chemistry and using laboratory equipment (i.e. FTIR, TGA, DSC, SEM/EDS, ovens, thermometers, calipers, and microscopes)
Preferred Qualifications
Chemistry degree (e.g. analytical, general, or organic)
Experience reading and interpreting technical specifications
Understanding of material testing/analysis such as: hardness, adhesion tests, sample preparation procedures, and cross sectioning
Experience performing and managing high volume, highly technical work
