Job Description
*Essential Functions* * Performs direct patient care, utilizing established policies, procedures and standards. * Administers contrast and IV's according to policy and procedure. * Accurately executes provider orders according to policies and procedures. * Performs indirect patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards. * Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate persons in a timely manner. * Performs accurate and timely documentation according to SVH guidelines. * Adhere to ASRT, ARMRIT and ARRT standards of practice. * Able to work independently and unsupervised and be available for regular emergency standby coverage off-hours and on weekends. * Availability to work at multiple locations. * Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff according to policies and procedures. * Ensures that supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner. * Demonstrates correct and safe techniques in the use of equipment according to specific product information. * Follows appropriate procedures for obtaining and returning or cleaning/disposing of equipment and supplies. * Participates in economical utilization of supplies and ensures that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner. * Adheres to Diagnostic Imaging policies. Does not incur excessive overtime. * Complies with specific SVH policies and procedures concerning safety. * Assists patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respects their confidentiality and privacy and communicates with them in a courteous and respectful manner. * Answers and refers telephone calls or other inquires to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated. * Identifies him/herself in a pleasant and positive manner. T * akes responsibility for helping the caller and/or visitor. * Assists in the orientation/training of new Team Members. * Consistently works in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow Team Members. * Assists other Team Members in the performance of their assignments.
*Education* * High School diploma or GED required. * Successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology training program. * Skagit Valley Hospital is a DNV certified Primary Stroke Center. Required to complete 1 hour of stroke education annually.
*Experience/Training*
Minimum one (1) year prior experience preferred.
*License/Certifications* * Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) required. * ARRT candidates are preferred to have Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Certification. * ARRT candidates are required to attain MR certification within 1 year of hire and maintain a current Washington State Radiologic Technologist license. * Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS required.
