Job Description

As a Navy Chaplain, you will provide spiritual support and guidance to Sailors and Marines, conducting worship services and counseling them during pivotal moments in their lives. You will be part of a diverse community of over 800 Chaplains, serving with compassion and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct worship services in various settings
  • Perform religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings and funerals
  • Counsel individuals seeking guidance
  • Oversee religious education programs
  • Visit and provide spiritual guidance to hospitalized personnel
  • Train lay leaders for religious education programs
  • Promote attendance at religious services and retreats
  • Advise leaders on morale, ethics, and spiritual well-being

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or equivalent
  • Graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited educational institution
  • Two years of full-time religious leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious faith organization registered with the Department of Defense
