Position Summary

As the ED Charge Nurse, you will oversee and coordinate nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department while supervising staff on the night shift. You’ll ensure clinical excellence, maintain patient safety, and support both acute and swing-bed units as needed. This is a key leadership position for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced yet community-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department and swing-bed unit.
  • Supervise and guide nursing staff during the night shift.
  • Coordinate with physicians, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
  • Respond quickly to critical and emergent situations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policy.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana or compact state.
  • 2+ years of Emergency Room or Acute Care experience required.
  • Prior Charge Nurse or Leadership experience preferred.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
