Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dynamic team providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll train fellow veterinarians and ensure high-quality care while making a real impact on animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging and teamwork
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high volume spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care
  • Ensure safety and security in the clinic

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent) from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
