Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and indirect patient care activities
Collect, interpret, and document patient care information accurately
Perform procedures as directed by the Medical Director
Maintain quality control logs in CLIA-waived labs
Take vital signs and collect specimens
Administer medications and immunizations
Provide clerical support including scheduling appointments and obtaining referral authorization
Perform telephone call reminders for scheduled appointments
Demonstrate competence in patient care responsibilities
Support University Health's mission and customer service standards
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card
Preferred Qualifications
National certification as a registered Medical Assistant
One-year experience in a clinic, doctor's office or ambulatory care setting
