Shift: 12-Hour Days | Every Other Weekend | First to Float

Required Certifications - BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
Unit Information - Unit: Labor & Delivery
- Beds:
- 10 L&D beds
- 2 ORs (within L&D)
- 2 Triage beds
- 18 Postpartum beds
- Births: ~130 per month
- Fetal Monitoring System: OBIX
- EMR: Cerner
- Charge Nurse: Yes (shared between L&D and Postpartum)
- Support Staff: Scrub techs for L&D (none in postpartum)
- Scrub Color: Provided
Staffing & Scheduling - Ratios:
- 1:1 near delivery
- 1:2 standard L&D
- 1:4 couplets on postpartum
- Shifts: 12 hours (7a–7p, 11a–11p, 7p–7a)
- Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts in a 4-week schedule
- Holiday Requirement: 1 Major & 1 Minor holiday
- On-Call Requirement: None
- Orientation: 3 shifts
Patient Population & Case Types - Deliveries as early as 23 weeks gestation
- High-risk pregnancies including:
- Antepartum complications
- Hypertension
- Advanced maternal age
- Multiples
- Known cardiac abnormalities transferred to higher-level care
- Perinatology support available
Required Experience - Minimum 2 years recent L&D RN experience
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Must have C-section experience including:
- Scrub
- Recovery
- Circulating
Additional Details - Floating: L&D may float to postpartum; postpartum does not typically float to L&D unless NICU background for feeder/grower care
- No Tele or Vents (patients transferred out if needed)
- OB/Neonatologist: Not currently in-house (plans in progress)
- RT & Pharmacy: 24/7 coverage
- IV Team: Not available
- Greatest staffing need is in Labor & Delivery
