Job Description
The Senior Director of Behavior for the ARC and CARE oversees the holistic care and rehabilitation of animals, leading a dedicated team while collaborating with various departments to improve animal welfare. This role emphasizes research and the implementation of best practices in behavioral health, aiming to enhance the lives of victims of cruelty and neglect.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for animals
Ensure high quality, low stress patient and population care
Manage and coach a team of behavior experts
Lead and facilitate research projects related to animal behavior
Maintain thorough behavioral records
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Experience working with behaviorally and medically compromised animals
DVM degree from AVMA accredited veterinary school or Master's/PhD in animal behavior
Low Stress Handling – Silver certified or can obtain certification within the first year
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in developing/overseeing research projects
