Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating students to identify speech-language therapy needs.
  • Developing and implementing individualized speech therapy plans.
  • Setting collaborative, student-centered goals with families and educators.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting therapy plans as needed.
  • Providing direct speech and language therapy using evidence-based strategies.
  • Documenting therapy sessions and clinical observations accurately.
  • Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date case records.
  • Fostering open communication with families regarding therapy schedules.
  • Collaborating with teachers and caregivers to support therapy goals.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and regional conferences.
  • Providing clinical support and expertise to program teams.
  • Mentoring educators and staff to ensure effective delivery of therapy plans.
  • Conducting client intakes and comprehensive clinical assessments.
  • Overseeing the quality of speech therapy services across multiple locations.
  • Maintaining clinical excellence through staff development.
  • Building trust and rapport with clients and families.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development.
  • Traveling regularly between assigned Spectrum School locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field of study.
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a speech language pathology (SLP) credential.
  • Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver’s license.
  • Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in providing speech language therapy support.
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students.
  • Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers, and community partners.
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
