Job Description

Join Raytheon as a Chemical & Materials Engineer I, where you will work in a world-class lab conducting hands-on testing of materials essential for innovative solutions. This role offers the chance to contribute to national security while developing your skills in material testing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test a wide array of materials for compliance to drawings, specifications, and program application
  • Work in a wet lab, observing all safety procedures and common lab protocols
  • Write scientific reports using generated data to support technical dispositions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Less than 2 years of experience in Chemistry
  • Experience using laboratory equipment (i.e. FTIR, TGA, DSC, SEM/EDS, ovens, thermometers, calipers, and microscopes)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chemistry degree (analytical, general, or organic)
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical specifications
  • Understanding of material testing/analysis
  • Experience performing and managing high volume, highly technical work
