Emergency Room RN Job Details

• Location: Wilson, NC 27893 (Eastern North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: December 28, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Setting: Emergency Department (26 beds)
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5, flexible based on acuity
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech
• Orientation: Bi-weekly
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570 - $1,680 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Experience with Meditech EHR preferred
• Strong teamwork and positive attitude
• Travel nurses must reside 60+ miles from Wilson, NC

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care to geriatric, adult, and pediatric populations
• Assess, triage, and manage patients with emergency conditions (respiratory distress, overdose, CHF, dialysis, hypertension)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Operate GE monitors and standard emergency department equipment
• Document all care and interventions accurately in Meditech EHR
• Float to similar nursing assignments as needed
• Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and dress code (scrub color: any)
