Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Pikeville, Kentucky 41501 (Eastern Kentucky nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: 7A Medical Unit
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/14/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 7A-7P (12-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 48 hours (4x12 hour shifts)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kentucky RN jobs)
• Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (5 years preferred)
• Previous travel nursing experience required

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and evaluate outcomes for young adult, adult, and elderly patients
• Conduct comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and reassessments
• Administer medications, specialized IV drips, transfusion therapy, and pain management
• Monitor cardiac status and provide pre/post cardiac cath care
• Manage chest tube care/insertion, TPN/PPN, and access central lines
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and ensure patient confidentiality
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and involve patients/families in care planning
• Educate patients and families based on identified learning needs
• Supervise and mentor healthcare staff; serve as a preceptor for new employees
• Assist physicians with procedures and respond promptly to changes in workload
• Participate in performance improvement activities and maintain competency in departmental skills
• Ensure proper functioning of patient care equipment and assist with supply management
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines
• Perform other related duties as assigned
