ER RN Job Details

• Location: Hickory, North Carolina 28601
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Healthcare Setting: 32-bed Emergency Department
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating every other weekend
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS or ENPC, NIHSS
• Strong clinical skills in emergency and critical care nursing
• Excellent communication and patient care abilities
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Hickory, NC to qualify as a travel nurse

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Assess, triage, and manage acute and emergent conditions such as trauma, stroke, and STEMI
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care
• Utilize Cerner EHR for accurate documentation and clinical support
• Float to other hospital units within competency areas as needed
• Maintain a positive, energetic, and knowledgeable presence in the Emergency Department
