Key Responsibilities
Provide basic nursing care and assist in resident assessments
Communicate significant changes in resident conditions to the interdisciplinary team
Document assessments and interventions accurately and timely
Participate in the care planning process for residents
Implement nursing interventions as per care plans
Monitor resident care and identify problem areas
Maintain composure during crisis situations
Complete continuing education related to nursing
Required Qualifications
Education from an accredited school of nursing resulting in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
Current LPN license in the state of employment
CPR and AED certification required or willing to obtain within six months
IV certification required or willing to obtain within six months
Ability to assess the basic nursing care needs of geriatric residents
Excellent communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to stand and walk for long periods
Ability to lift heavy objects using proper techniques
Ability to transfer and move patients weighing 200+ lbs
Ability to push and pull equipment weighing over 40 lbs
Manual dexterity and coordination
Visual acuity to distinguish color
Ability to perform documentation electronically and in writing
