Position Description

Join our team at Hillside Hospital, part of the Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, located in the charming town of Pulaski, TN. Known for its welcoming community and picturesque surroundings, Pulaski offers a peaceful setting with easy access to larger cities. Our facility is a 95-bed, Joint Commission-accredited acute care hospital providing vital services to Giles County and the surrounding area.

Job Details

• Orientation: Weekly, on Mondays
• Local Rate: Competitive
• Travel Requirement: Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility
• Shift: 7P - 7A
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend and as needed

Requirements

• Certifications: BLS, ALS, PALS (Handle with care post-hire)
• Experience: Preferred 5 years, acceptable with 3 years
• Education: ASN minimum; Licensure/certification to work as an RN in TN
• Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to start

Unit Information

• Department: Detox
• Number of Beds: 13
• Patient Ratios: 1:7
• Equipment: IV pumps, zoll monitor, IV catheters
• EHR: HMS/Medhost

Patient Population

Ages 18 to Geriatric (occasionally 17-year-old patients).

Desired Skills and Experience

• Patient care for all ages
• Bedside shift report
• IV access
• Preferred: Experience with CIWA/COWS, assist with bedside procedures such as picc lines/midlines

Common Diagnoses and Treatments

Substance abuse, polysubstance abuse, ETOH, underlying behavioral conditions, hypertension, syncope, seizures, liver disease, cognitive changes, high fall risk. Treatments include valium tapers, subutex, vivitrol, banana bags, and rescue medications.
