RN – Acute Surgical – Traveler (Day Shift, 5x8s + On-Call)


Shift: 5×8s, Monday–Friday

  • Possible shift windows: 06:30–15:00, 08:00–16:30, or 09:00–17:30
    On-Call:

  • One night on-call every 4 nights (17:30–07:00)

  • One weekend on-call every 4 weekends
    Assignment Type: Travel

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced RN for an acute surgical unit travel assignment. The nurse will work weekday 8-hour shifts with rotating night and weekend call. Candidates must have strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt to varied shift hours in a surgical post-op setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct patient care to post-op surgical patients

  • Monitor, assess, and document patient condition and progress

  • Administer medications and post-surgical treatments per provider orders

  • Collaborate with surgical teams, case management, and ancillary departments

  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and hospital policies

  • Participate in scheduled night and weekend on-call rotation

Requirements:
  • Active RN license in the state of assignment (or compact license)

  • Minimum 2 years of acute surgical or post-op experience required

  • BLS and ACLS (AHA) required

  • Proficiency with EMR systems preferred

  • Strong critical thinking, time management, and teamwork skills
