Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Physical Therapist (PT) to join a healthcare facility in Le Mars, IA, on a travel contract. The PT will assess and treat patients requiring rehabilitative care following illness, injury, or surgery, with a focus on restoring function, improving mobility, and promoting independence. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and skilled in providing evidence-based physical therapy across a variety of patient populations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient evaluations to determine rehabilitation needs and functional goals.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with physician recommendations and patient objectives.
Provide therapeutic interventions including strengthening, gait training, mobility exercises, and balance activities.
Educate patients and caregivers on therapy goals, safe mobility, and home exercise programs.
Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes accurately and timely in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Maintain a safe and supportive rehabilitation environment while adhering to infection control policies.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Current and valid Physical Therapist license in Iowa (or compact license).
Minimum of 1 year of recent PT experience, preferably in a rehabilitation or acute care setting.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
COVID vaccine and recent TB test.
Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
