Job Description
Join FM as a Senior Research Mechanical Engineer, where you'll assess risks of complex industrial equipment and develop innovative risk mitigation methodologies. Collaborate with a diverse team to support major industrial clients in maintaining operational continuity and enhancing safety through advanced engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Review loss data and develop trends for major industrial equipment
Support understanding of contributing factors and root causes of major equipment losses
Assess/evaluate risk mitigation technologies and develop methodologies
Support the development of FM Operating Standards
Develop and maintain tools and testing setups for electromechanical applications
Conduct condition monitoring experiments and evaluate system efficacy
Develop solid and fluid mechanics models as needed
Lead or support experimental works and interpret test results
Develop research technical reports under guidance
Propose and develop relevant research topics or project ideas
Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree in mechanical engineering or related field with at least 5 years of industrial experience, or a Master's degree with at least 10 years of industrial experience
Strong hands-on knowledge and experience in engineering functions related to industrial equipment
Strong engineering fundamentals including heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and engineering mechanics
Knowledge and experience in data modeling/analytics including machine learning and AI methods
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and project management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong collaboration and team working spirit
