Key Responsibilities

  • Full accountability for food cost, food waste, BOH staffing and wages, HACCP, production, pars, orders, and cleanliness
  • Supervises and partners with the Assistant Kitchen Manager
  • Ensures proper staffing in all positions
  • Maintains Chuy's procedures and recipes for food quality and safety
  • Oversees and maintains pars, inventory, and orders
  • Ensures kitchen equipment is functional
  • Participates in hiring and training of new staff
  • Ensures cleaning standards are maintained
  • Creates schedules for kitchen staff
  • Works within a budget to maintain costs and minimize waste

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant
  • Strong culinary knowledge
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Financial understanding of sales, costs of sales and labor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
  • Familiarity with a variety of kitchen equipment and its maintenance
  • Willingness to run occasional front of house shifts
