- L&D Beds : 9
- OR Suites (C-Sections) : 2
- Triage Beds : 7
- Births : Avg. 9/day | ~250/month | ~3,000/year
- Scrubs : Hospital-provided
📋 Staffing & Ratios
- AWHONN Ratios : Aimed at 1:1 or 1:2, but 2 patients is common
- Charge Nurse : On each shift, free charge
- Support Staff : OB Techs available
- Telemetry Monitoring : OB RNs do not read tele; cardiac monitor techs are on adult side
- EFM System : CPN Centricity
💉 Certifications Required
- BLS
- NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced
👩⚕️ Experience & Skills Required
- Vaginal exams
- Scalp electrodes
- Circulate C-sections
- Newborn transitions
- Assist with anesthesia
- IV starts, Blood draws
- Assigning APGARs
- Epidurals
- Amnio infusions
- Postpartum hemorrhage control
- Drips : Must titrate Magnesium, Pitocin, Insulin, Blood
- Preferred : Spanish-speaking, experience with "Spinning Babies"
- Awareness of Water Births helpful (not required)

- 28+ weeks gestation
- High HTN population
- 7–10% no prenatal care
- High Spanish-speaking population
- Telemetry monitoring
👶 Staffing & Provider Support
- OB/Neonatologist in-house 24/7
- Respiratory Equipment : BVM for neonates, T-piece resuscitator
⏰ Scheduling
- Shifts : 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Weekends :
- Nights : Fri/Sat
- Days : Sat/Sun
- Must work 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Holidays :
- Will be assigned 2 of 3 major holidays (includes eve/day )
- Must agree to holiday requirement in interview
- Call : Low census call (not mandatory but available)
- Float :
- May float to NICU, Peds, Women’s, MedSurg, ICU, RDU with appropriate assignments
- May care for antepartum or baby for 2 hours postpartum
- No full postpartum assignments unless trained
🧑🏫 Orientation
- 1 day NEO (hospital orientation)
- 1 day Clinical Ed/EPIC
- 1 day on unit floor
