Adult Inpatient Rehab Occupational Therapist - Travel Position

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Adult Inpatient Rehabilitation team. This role is essential for helping adult patients regain the skills needed for daily living after a serious injury, illness, or surgery. The OT will be responsible for evaluating patient needs, creating individualized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions to improve a patient's ability to perform everyday tasks. The ideal candidate is creative, patient-focused, and excels at collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate a safe and successful return to home.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess a patient's cognitive, physical, and functional abilities for activities of daily living (ADLs).
Develop and implement individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans to improve independence in self-care, home management, and community tasks.
Provide therapeutic interventions focused on upper extremity function, motor skills, and cognitive retraining.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists to ensure coordinated care.
Educate patients and their families on adaptive strategies, home modifications, and the use of assistive devices.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and progress.
Assist with discharge planning, recommending appropriate equipment and community resources.
Qualifications:

Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in North Carolina.
Doctoral or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an inpatient rehabilitation or acute care setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
