Toro Siteworks is a division of The Toro Company focused on providing equipment and solutions for the rental and specialty construction markets. Key products within Toro Siteworks include Dingo compact utility loaders, Ultra Buggy, Stump grinders and other compact equipment and solutions designed to increase productivity and efficiency in outdoor work environments, particularly in construction and landscaping. The Siteworks line complements Toro's broader offerings for professional contractors and rental companies. 

  

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team in the compact construction equipment space. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and revising detailed mechanical designs and drawings using CAD software, supporting product development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.

 

What Will You Do? 

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop 2D and 3D mechanical designs and models using CAD software (Creo).

  • Create detailed drawings and specifications for mechanical components and assemblies.

  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in SAP.

  • Collaborate with engineers to understand design requirements and constraints.

  • Conduct tolerance analysis and ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.

  • Support prototype development, building and testing, incorporating feedback into design revisions.

  • Maintain design documentation and version control throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

What Do You Need? 

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:  

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design, Drafting Technology, or a related field.

  • Designer II- 2-4 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

  • Designer III- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or drafting, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment

  • Proficiency in Creo software or similar.

  • Understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes; especially welding, casting, sheet metal, and machining. 

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience in engines, hydraulics and/or electrical systems preferred

  • Knowledge of FEA or other simulation tools is a plus.

Competitive Salary The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between ​$71700 - ​$100000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
