Job Description
We are seeking an experienced nurse for our busy cardiac stepdown unit specializing in cardiac and stroke care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and be comfortable with a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for providing excellent patient care, monitoring patients before and after procedures, and administering cardiac drips.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre and post-procedure care for patients undergoing cardiac interventions.
- Monitor and manage multiple cardiac drips, including Cardiazem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
- Manage patient assessments, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes for a patient ratio of 1:5-6.
- Assist with the admission and discharge process with the support of a team lead.
- Float to other units as needed, ensuring flexibility and adaptability based on unit needs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a high-acuity cardiac unit.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and IV therapy.
- Valid ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications.
- Ability to pass EKG Testing prior to start.
- NC or Compact license required by start date.
