Key Responsibilities
Manage a team of rail experts overseeing railcar capacity and pipeline management
Develop department plans and resource management
Implement programs to reduce costs associated with demurrage, storage, and fleet optimization
Support the implementation of internal automation and rail technology solutions
Develop and improve rail performance measurements (KPI’s in PowerBi dashboards)
Collaborate with other functional areas on department plans and initiatives
Identify opportunities for coaching to maximize job performance
Maintain positive working relationships with carriers, vendors, suppliers, and customers
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
4+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics
Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilities
Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field
Ability to build relationships across business and customers
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and time management skills
Good coordination and organizational abilities
Strong decision-making skills
Ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate data
Experience working with Microsoft Systems, including PowerBi
Prior rail management experience, including use of rail technology
Experience leading team of remote, hybrid and on-site employees
Ability to work in a Matrix Organization
