Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and provide rehabilitative and therapeutic services to patients of all ages
  • Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities
  • Identify barriers to performing activities of daily living and establish therapy goals
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Utilize therapeutic techniques to enhance patients’ functional abilities
  • Recommend and train patients in adaptive equipment
  • Educate patients and families on therapeutic strategies
  • Provide guidance on adapting home and work environments
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Communicate progress to healthcare professionals
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Participate in case conferences to coordinate patient care
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations
  • Maintain a safe therapy environment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • State licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist
  • Basic Life Support through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience in acute care rehabilitation
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapy practices
