Key Job Details – Med/Surg RN Travel Assignment

• Location: Mayfield, KY 42066 – Ideal for RNs seeking Kentucky nursing jobs in a close-knit community with access to parks, local shops, and a friendly atmosphere.
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) – 3rd & 4th Floor
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/30/2025 – End: 3/1/2026)
• Patient Ratios: Up to 1:8 with Patient Care Assistant (PCA) support
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech
• Orientation: Weekly, starting Mondays
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs (no hoodies or non-facility logos)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Kentucky or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification (required prior to start)
• CPI, HWC, or MAB certification (required prior to start)
• Ability to float to similar medical-surgical units as needed
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and team-oriented attitude
• Must reside 60+ miles from Mayfield, KY to qualify as a travel nurse

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using Meditech EHR
• Administer medications, treatments, and provide post-operative care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Support patients with common diagnoses such as COPD, post-op joint replacements, and diabetes
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
• Provide compassionate support to patients and their families throughout the care process
