Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and support both new and experienced veterinarians in delivering high-quality care to underserved communities. Lead a passionate team, ensure patient well-being, and make a significant impact in animal welfare through our Community Veterinary Clinics.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and performance evaluations
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume spay/neuter procedures
Provide compassionate veterinary care to patients in underserved areas
Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
Participate in monthly Veterinary Medicine Rounds and Morbidity and Mortality Meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
