Board-certified Anesthesiology Physicians are needed for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, starting September or October 2025. The role involves providing general anesthesia, including OB with TOLAC and light pediatric cases, with a demanding schedule including weekday shifts and rotating on-call duties. This assignment offers competitive hourly pay, full malpractice coverage, and a supportive perioperative environment with no clinic responsibilities.
We are seeking 1 2 Board-Certified Anesthesiologists to join a well-supported hospital-based group in Waterloo, Iowa for a high-paying locum tenens assignment beginning in late September or early October 2025 .
Schedule & CoverageStart: Late September or early October (must be able to start by then)
Duration: Ongoing
Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM 4:30 PM
Night Call: Every 3 4 days (1st, 2nd, 3rd call structure)
Weekend Call: Rotating, not fixed (1st call activated 75% of time)
Minimum Availability: 2 weeks per month accepted
No clinic responsibilities
General Anesthesia (including OB with TOLAC)
Light Peds (mainly tonsils/adenoids)
Conscious sedation required
No hearts or neurosurgery
EMR: Epic (live as of May 2025)
Support Staff: 6 physicians, 2 CRNAs
OR Volume: cases/day department-wide across 13 ORs
Weekday hourly : $390/hr
Night call : $598/hr
24hr call : $2,660/day (includes 4 gratis hours)
All travel, lodging, and malpractice covered
Board Certified in Anesthesiology ( BE not accepted )
Active Iowa license or IMLC with LOQ in hand
ACLS (can be completed during credentialing)
Fully COVID vaccinated
Clean malpractice history required
