Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Short Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees during a 13-week assignment.

Complete Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse committed to excellence in patient care. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals based on nursing assessments and patient collaboration.
• Provide timely patient information for Initial Team and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on assigned units, ensuring quality care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning through collaboration and reassurance.
• Maintain communication regarding service needs, supplies, and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibility as needed and actively pursue professional development.
• Prioritize tasks and effectively use time and staff to meet patient needs.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Behavior Characteristics:

• BLS Certification: Required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification: Required prior to first shift (specific to certain facilities).
• Minimum Experience: Two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• ICU Experience: Preferred.
